About Avery Alexander

My name is Avery Alexander. As a recent graduated from the University of John Brown, I have a BS degree in Art & Illustrations.  During my studies at JBU, I worked with a variety of mediums to create various works of art, depicting both comical and expressive forms of artwork. However, my favorite expression of art is comic book illustration. I enjoy creating storylines and adding my personal touch to make each character come to life. Since graduating from John Brown University, I have uploaded and shared my works of art on my social media website, Wix.  With my current skill set and desire to gain more experience in the illustration and graphic design field, my long-term goal is to work for Marvel Comics Inc.

My passion for drawing started when I was around 5 or 6 years old, after watching my first Spider-Man movie on VHS. After watching that movie, I became a huge Spider-Man fan, and developed a fascination with other Marvel comic superheroes. My love for comics continued to evolve as I would tag along with my mom to various stores, Old Navy, and I noticed the free copies of Amazing Fantasy comic book. After picking up a copy, I became invested in both the story and the pictures. It was at that moment that I realized I wanted to become a comic book illustrator.

Currently I'm employed as a bus aide for Milestone Service where I assist with getting student on and off the bus and getting them to and from their classes. I've been employed part-time by Milestone Service since February 2018.
